Cuarenta – Ecuador's FAVORITE Card Game

Cuarenta is a simple card game loved by Ecuadorians. You’ll find old men playing in parks in Quito. It’s especially popular in the Sierra. The game is played with two people, or with 2 teams of 2. The object is to collect cards that translate to points at the end of rounds. The first to 40 wins. You only play with 40 cards (no 8s, 9s, or 10s). In case you didn’t know, cuarenta means 40 in Spanish. The video does a great job of explaining the rules, but for reference, on how to play Cuarenta, you can use the instructions on my website:

Special thanks to Jesse Fisher for using all the sex appeal he could garner to play the role of Carlos Estrada.

I love to share the places I find and the foods I eat. If you are headed to Ecuador, be sure to download my guide to Quito. It’ll show you the top 10 dishes to try and recommend a place to get them where you can have a local experience. NO OVERPRICED TOURIST RESTAURANTS

I currently live in Quito and I am constantly exploring and traveling the country and other parts of the world. My channel will entertain you (I encourage you to laugh at me), educate you (I do a lot of research), and make you downright ravenous.
